Need Dentures near Mission Viejo, Orange County, CA?

There are many reasons people loose their teeth. Often genetics, periodontal disease, decay or injuries cause teeth to fall out. Replacing missing teeth is necessary to maintain your health and appearance. With dentures there are various types of prosthetics to choose from.

Dr. Schneider is a denture expert who creates prosthetic teeth to help patients regain their ability to chew easily, speak with clarity and smile with confidence. If you no longer have most or all of your natural teeth then there are several denture options to consider.

Traditional Dentures

Traditional dentures are supported by the surrounding hard and soft tissues of the mouth and are removable. There are two main traditional denture technologies; the mandibular arch denture and the maxillary arch denture. The mandible is the bone that supports the teeth on the bottom of your mouth. The maxilla is the bone that holds the teeth at the top of your mouth. Together these bones create the largest and most powerful structure in your face. When Dr. Schneider creates your dentures he designs them specifically for which bone they will be placed upon and for optimum function within the soft and hard tissues of the mandible and maxilla.

Implant Supported Dentures

Many denture wearers are transitioning to implant supported dentures because of the many advantages they offer. Implant supported dentures provide most patients with superior chewing function and are more attractive in appearance. With implant supported dentures, your denture prosthesis snaps onto two or more implant fixtures that are placed in your jawbone. This minimizes denture slippage and allows for greater strength and function. Implant supported dentures are well-reputed for supporting bone structure and maintaining strength. With implant supported dentures, most patients experience little or no long term discomfort.

To begin the implant supported denture process Dr. Schneider places two or more implants within the jaw bone. Some healing time is required so the implant can bond to the bone. During the healing process you can wear your traditional dentures. Once the implant placements are ready, Dr. Schneider uncovers each implant and creates a new set of dentures especially for your mouth. The new dentures snap onto the implants and function much like natural teeth.
