Need Tooth Bonding near Mission Viejo, Orange County, CA?

Tooth bonding is a popular cosmetic solution for patients with slight spaces between teeth, minor chips or imperfections worthy of correction. Bonding materials are made of tooth-colored composite. Bonding can protect teeth and enhance your smile because bonding materials are customized to match the natural color of your teeth.

How Bonding Works

When preparing a tooth or teeth for bonding, Dr. Schneider mildly roughens the surface of each tooth designated for bonding. He then applies a conditioning liquid to aid with adhesion. The bonding material Dr. Schneider uses works much like putty or resin. It is applied in soft form to the tooth, Dr. Schneider then works with the bonding materials to mold and smooth them in to exactly the right shape and position for your smile. Once Dr. Schneider has the bonding materials just as he wants them, he uses an ultraviolet laser to harden the material to look and function as your natural tooth enamel would.

Once the bonding material is hardened, some final details will be attended to. Dr. Schneider polishes the bonding material to match the natural shine of your smile.

Why Use Tooth Bonding?

Many patients with chipped or mildly broken teeth choose bonding because it restores the function and appearance of their smiles. Bonding materials are less expensive than porcelain veneers and are a viable solution for minor cosmetic enhancement. Over time, bonding can wear away, but with proper care and attention, most dentists anticipate your bonding will last for up to 10 years.
